Harper grabbed the nearest pillow. Soft. Squishy. Very not-pixel.
“Science time,” Harper muttered.
Swing! The pillow sailed through the air toward the glowing blocky doorway on the tablet. Fwump. Instead of bouncing off the screen, the pillow stretched into long, chunky pixels and slipped right through.
On the tablet, it landed inside the tiny Minecraft house. Thump. Now it was a perfect cube pillow, sitting on a pixel bed like it had always lived there.
Harper’s eyes widened. The cube breeze puffed again, gentle and warm, brushing Harper’s cheeks like a quiet invitation. The doorway shimmered, steady and calm.
“Okay,” Harper whispered. “Guess it’s safe.”
