Percy scooted a little rock over with his foot.
"You," he announced, "are now… TEST ROCK. Very important job. No pressure. Well… some pressure. From gravity."
He tied four strings to the plastic bag, then to the rock. The bag sagged. The rock did not look impressed.
Percy waddled to the very edge of the rooftop. Cars zoomed below. Buses whooshed. Leaves did their fancy twirl.
"Parachute Prototype Number One," Percy said in his best science voice, "prepare for LAUNCH!"
He held the rock out over the edge. His feathers tingled.
"Three… two… one…"
Percy let go.
FWIP!
The rock dropped. The bag flipped. Everything went very, very NOT-floaty.
"UH-OH," Percy gulped, leaning over to see what happened next…
