The Desert's Trick

As the sun went down, Polly and Amir looked for the tomb's entrance. The sand moved under their feet, hiding the door. Amir started to feel annoyed. "The desert is playing tricks on us," Amir said, kicking the ground. Polly, the parrot, flew next to him to help him feel better. "Remember what your ancestors told you. The desert is a friend if you respect it," she said. Amir took a deep breath and walked back. He let his feelings guide him. Soon, he touched a stone that felt different. It was like it had energy. "Here!" Amir shouted. His voice was loud in the evening air. They pushed the stone together. It made a loud noise, and a hidden door opened. A dark path led into the ground. Polly felt excited, but she also wondered. What secrets or dangers were inside?
