The Ranger's Notebook

Polly found a small ranger station. A ranger was drinking tea. He had a tablet with a map. The dots on the map were lions with collars. Polly looked at the screen. The ranger smiled.

By the wall there was a pile of old wires. These are snares. Bad people hide them in the grass. Rangers find them and take them away. They have removed many thousands.

How old is the great migration? Nobody knows. No one has ever seen a year without it. The rangers protect the path of the animals.

Polly walked on the ranger's notebook. Her feet made little marks. The ranger wrote: one green parrot, with glasses, very curious. He drew her picture too.
