The Town of Golden Stone

Polly flew down into the old town. Narrow streets wound between low white houses.

In the middle stood a great church. It looked like a castle, with high walls, a tall tower, and battlements along the top.

It was built from golden stone too. The same stone from the cave by the sea built the church and the windmills. Now Polly understood.

Down at the port, a fisher mended his nets beside the boats. The morning catch shone in the sun. Polly said hello and flew on.
