A small white lighthouse stood high on the edge of the cliff. For many, many years it has watched over the ships and the sea below.
The sun rose slowly out of the water. The sea around the cape is calm and clear, and it is protected, so the fish and the plants below the surface live in peace. The first light turned the cliffs gold one more time.
Polly looked back and said goodbye to the elephant mountain. Then she rose on the warm morning wind and flew out over the bright, open sea.
