The Knight and the Deer

On day four the wind was strong. Polly hopped across a big stone square on the clifftop. Gulls landed sideways in the wind.

At the edge of the cliff was a very small chapel. Inside, the walls were covered with blue and white tiles. It was cool and quiet.

The tiles told an old story. A rider hunted a deer in the fog. The deer jumped into the mist. The ground ended there. But the horse stopped at the edge, and the rider was safe.

Outside, Polly sat on a statue with a deer head. It held a surfboard. Below, the waves were getting bigger.
