The Serengeti is full of grass. Old volcanoes made the soil rich. The grass here is very good food. More than a million wildebeest walk in a big circle every year to eat it.
Big grey rocks stand on the plain. They are called kopjes. Polly landed on top of one. The rock was warm. A lion was sleeping below, like a big cat.
In the evening, Polly saw long dark lines far away. Thousands of animals were walking north. Polly slept in a tree. Tomorrow she would meet them.
