Keep it on your phone βIn the morning Polly flew to the top of the forest. On the ground it is dark and still. But up high it was full of sun. Leaves shone and flowers hung in the air. Polly's blue-teal wings flashed. This top part is the canopy.
Most rainforest animals live up here. Monkeys ran along the branches. Sloths hung still and ate leaves slowly. Birds of many colors flew from tree to tree. They almost never touch the ground.
It was very loud and bright. Parrots and toucans called from the high branches. Their feathers were red, gold, and blue. Polly flew with them. Here her bright colors were normal.
One giant tree stood high above the rest. Polly flew to the top and rested. She could see the forest in every direction. Far away, grey rain fell on the green.
