Polly Arrives in Marrakech

Polly was a bright and curious parrot. She flew with energy as she saw the city of Marrakech below her. The city was full of history and modern life. There were busy markets and the big Atlas Mountains far away. As Polly came down, she smelled spices in the air. She could smell cumin, coriander, and saffron in the small streets. Polly landed in the Jemaa el-Fnaa, the main square of the city. The square was full of sounds. She heard the noise of horse carriages and the call to prayer from the Koutoubia Mosque. People were talking and selling things like carpets and argan oil. Polly saw many colors and movement around her. She noticed a group of children. They were listening to an old storyteller. His voice was soft and smooth. He told stories that everyone loved. Polly sat on a lantern post nearby. She was amazed by the place. She was excited to see what adventures she would have in this magical city.
